This short article is a little off the beaten track of my usual work. Forgive me but I could not resist giving a special mention to a very special lady......
Nobody should underestimate the role of the artist in our culture. The artist's function is a key survival one.
The artist puts forward new realities, new viewpoints and new dreams for our consideration and gets us to look at life's ongoing problem-solving adventure from fresh angles. Or the artist can simply inspire and uplift and it is a matter of observation that human beings thus uplifted, experiencing pleasure in the business of living or simply having fun, perform better.
And better performance equates to improved survival.
Part of my self-appointed role s a writer is to seek out and bring to your attention the positives of life for it is the positives upon which we can build and from which we can proceed to further positives and a steady improvement of our cultural condition.
Fortunately, though the foes of Man would convince you otherwise, the human world is actually rich in positives.
It therefore gives me immense pleasure to stumble now and then upon great human talent and individuals able to bring beauty into our lives.
I therefore mention in passing a very talented young lady with a beautiful voice and masterful rendition worthy of your attention.
